Shanky’s Whip, the fast-rising Irish liqueur and whiskey blend brand known for its distinctive flavour and standout branding, is set to make its debut in over fifty Co-Op East of England stores, rolling out from September 2025.
The listing marks a significant milestone in the brand’s continued growth across the UK off-trade, providing Shanky’s Whip with enhanced regional presence in a key grocery retail channel.
Blended and bottled in County Cavan, Ireland, Shanky’s Whip combines bold, aged Irish whiskey with the natural flavours of vanilla and caramel, resulting in a dark, smooth liqueur and whiskey blend that balances rich butterscotch notes with the warm spice of traditional Irish whiskey.
This unique flavour profile, along with its versatility as both a gifting product and cocktail ingredient, has positioned Shanky’s Whip as a category challenger and innovation leader.
The listing with Co-Op East of England is strategically timed to coincide with seasonal consumer occasions and the colder autumnal months leading up to the festive period, occasions that naturally lend themselves to premium, gifting-oriented spirit purchases.
With its retro-inspired 70cl glass bottle and eye-catching label, featuring the brand’s namesake, Shanky, astride an ostrich in a nod to vintage Irish matchbox artwork, the product is designed to drive shelf appeal and encourage consumer trial.
Jacob Barret, Brand Manager at Global Brands, says: “We’re delighted to be launching into Co-Op East of England stores this September. This is a significant partnership for us as we look to increase our availability in regional grocery channels and give consumers more opportunities to experience Shanky’s in new and exciting ways, whether as a gifting option, a cocktail base, or a unique seasonal serve.
“Over the next couple of months we’re looking into driving brand awareness through targeted sampling initiatives, including our custom Shanky’s Whip van featuring a striking life-sized ostrich head sticking out of the top, alongside in-store tastings and retail activations to get the product directly into consumers’ hands nationwide.”
In addition to its appeal as a standalone shot or longer serve enjoyed over ice, Shanky’s Whip continues to gain traction with UK consumers seeking innovative ways to enjoy Irish liqueurs and whiskey blends. Suggested serves include the ‘Short and Stout, a chaser-style pairing with a stout or preferably Guiness, or as a unique twist in an Espresso Martini.
The 70cl bottle of liqueur will be available at selected Co-Op East Of England stores with an RRP of £21.00.
This latest listing joins Shanky’s Whip’s growing UK distribution, which includes online retailers such as Amazon and Good Time In, as well as selected Greene King pubs nationwide.
