How long have you worked at Global Brands?

I Joined in April 2024.

What is your role at Global Brands and what does it entail?

I am an RSM, I cover the West Midlands and work with groups and single venues in the independent free trade. I work very closely with the ‘Route to Market’ channel and have built up strong relationships in my regional wholesalers. This has enabled me to get much faster intros and wins across the patch

How did you get into it?

I started my sales career before I had my family, working in FMCG. I worked for a long time at MARS. I gained a very structured way of working which has really helped me in any roles since.  I worked in Foodservice for MARS, and this led me to want to work with the On-Trade. I joined Bidfood as an Account Manager and enjoyed the drinks side so much. I then progressed to Matthew Clark, which gave me a great grounding into selling all brands. I decided after 2 years to work directly for a brand. In 2017 I joined a Scottish distillery as Midland’s account manager. I have also worked for Campari and Proximo spirits.

What’s the best project you’ve worked on and why?

I have really enjoyed the launch of ABM and learnt so much. I love educating and winning new accounts.

What do you like the most about working at Global Brands?

I love the diversity of my role. The freedom to plan my own area and working week. I have fantastic colleagues who support me day to day. I love the fast pace and innovation. I also love the fact I can be in touch with Steve (Perez- the founder and owner of GB) and all the senior leadership team and they are always so supportive and interested in us and our accounts

What’s your favourite GB product and why?

Hands down SHANKYS WHIP. Such a fun and cool brand to work with.

And just to be nosy, what’s your favourite packet of crisps?

Marks and Spencer’s Cheese Tasters.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone thinking about a career in the drinks industry?

Don’t over promise and under deliver …. They never forget if you let them down.
