Role overview

We are looking for an experienced sales leader for this this key strategic role as National Account Controller- Grocery.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead, energise, evolve and develop Global Brands’ Grocery team. Working closely with the Sales Director to craft and execute a robust strategy that challenges the status quo in a positive manner.  Day to day you will develop creative, commercially viable initiatives that, when implemented, will significantly enhance our presence within the channel and exceed all KPIs for both you and your team.

You are the market expert with a thirst to continuously build knowledge- who understands market trends and opportunities. You are prepared to act swiftly and decisively in response to range reviews and other opportunities, demonstrating agility and courage in pursuing new avenues for growth.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Turn Company KPI’s into the grocery strategy including new business.
  • Target and track progress at all stages of a proposal/tender.
  • Daily management of team KPI achievement and planning.
  • Constructing regular team meetings to excite, enthuse, manage, and review performance.
  • Team development on all aspects of sales processes and routines aligned to real time PDPs
  • Reporting of key metrics and KPI’s, weekly and Monthly via Salesforce tool and our manipulated reports.
  • Recruitment of the best talent alongside our in-house recruitment manager
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and prospect group customers.
  • Regular in-depth marketplace feedback of changes to the market and activations from the competitor set.
  • Unwavering ownership of all targets and everything that sits within your remit.
  • Track record of leading teams that deliver significant group understanding and wins plus distribution, volume and profit growth.
  • Strong understanding of the alcoholic drink’s category/trends that leads to comprehensive delivery of responsibilities.
  • Natural ability to continually demonstrate you have built a strong network within internal and external customers.
  • Continually addressing gaps in performance and then developing innovative, commercial suggestions and proposals to close.

 

The Person:

  • Commercial leadership experience at minimum SNAM level, with demonstrable results.
  • Proven management skills will be essential as well as the ability to coach and mentor the team.
  • Strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape and the challenges associated with national account management in this sector.
  • In-depth understanding of the drinks industry encompassing key players, market dynamics and regulatory landscape.
  • A strong strategic mindset to identify long-term goals, devise effective business development strategies and make informed decisions that align with the company’s vision.
  • Able to sell concept and new product development
  • PC literacy including PowerPoint, PDF, and Excel. Experience of Salesforce would be advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation, organisation and influencing skills.
  • Must be able to visit head office at least once a week
