Purpose
Be the marketing force behind commercial growth in Off Trade Retail. You’ll bring together data, insight, and creativity to deliver customer-specific activations, compelling category stories, and profitable growth plans. Reporting into the Head of Customer Marketing (with a dotted line to the National Account Controller – Off Trade), you’ll partner closely with sales, category, and retailer contacts to make sure our brands win on shelf and in shoppers’ baskets.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute customer-specific activation plans for Multiple retailers (including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi etc) discounters, and convenience.
- Work hand-in-hand with the in-house category team to turn data and insight into powerful, retailer-ready stories and ranging recommendations.
- Manage A&P budgets alongside sales colleagues, maximising return on spend with clear tracking and evaluation.
- Lead the delivery of shopper activations, NPD launches, promotions, and POS from idea through to execution in-store.
- Partner with National Account Managers to create customer presentations, tenders, and JBP inputs that land with impact.
- Evaluate all activity and share “what worked / what next” learnings to sharpen future plans.
- Act as the go-to marketing contact for Off Trade Retail, ensuring alignment between brand strategy and customer objectives.
- Build strong relationships with retailer stakeholders and third-party media/data partners, always representing our brands with confidence and energy.
Measures of Success
- Consistent value and volume growth across Off Trade Retail accounts.
- Clear, measurable ROI from all A&P investment.
- NPD launches and activations delivered on time, on budget, on brief.
- Recognition by customers as a category partner and activation leader.
- Positive feedback from Head of Customer Marketing, National Account Controller, NAMs, and category team.
Key Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience in customer marketing, category management, or Off Trade retail roles.
- Commercially sharp with proven budget management and ROI delivery.
- Comfortable translating data into stories that persuade buyers and inspire teams.
- Track record of delivering impactful retailer activations and NPD launches.
- Strong project manager who thrives under pressure and manages multiple priorities.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
- High-energy, self-starter with a growth mindset and a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
