Purpose
Be part of the marketing force driving commercial growth in Off Trade Retail. As Assistant Customer Marketing Manager, you’ll support the development and delivery of customer-specific activations, category stories, and growth plans that help our brands win on shelf and in shoppers’ baskets.
Reporting to the Senior Customer Marketing Manager (with close collaboration with the National Account Controller – Off Trade), you’ll work alongside sales, category, and retailer teams to bring insight-led, impactful activity to life.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation and execution of customer activation plans across Multiple retailers (including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi etc), discounters, and convenience channels.
- Collaborate with the category team to turn shopper and market insights into compelling, retailer-ready stories and recommendations.
- Assist in managing A&P budgets with sales colleagues, helping to track and evaluate spend effectiveness.
- Coordinate shopper activations, NPD launches, promotions, and POS materials from briefing through to in-store execution.
- Partner with National Account Managers to prepare customer presentations, tenders, and JBP inputs that showcase our brands with impact.
- Support post-activity evaluation and share learnings to help shape future plans.
- Act as a key marketing contact for Off Trade Retail, ensuring activity aligns with overall brand and customer strategies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, retailer stakeholders, and third-party partners.
Measures of Success
- Timely, high-quality delivery of activations, launches, and promotional materials.
- Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective budget tracking and evidence of ROI improvements.
- Contribution to value and volume growth across Off Trade Retail accounts.
- Visible development in customer marketing and category understanding.
Key Requirements
- Around 1–2 years’ experience in customer marketing, category management, or Off Trade retail roles.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of UK retailer dynamics.
- Comfortable working with data and insight to support compelling customer stories.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Clear communicator and effective team player, able to work cross-functionally with sales and marketing colleagues.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to grow into a future marketing leadership role.
