Ryan Arnold - Level 4 Data Analyst
I started working at Global Brands in September 2021 as an Insight Coordinator with no prior experience in the industry. I was initially nervous about starting a role in which I had no experience, however the recruitment team and the onboarding process quickly settled my nerves.
Over the first few months my team trained me on the technical and specific aspects of the job whilst giving me the opportunities to practice and apply my learnings in real time.
Throughout my first year with the company, as my skills developed, I was given more and more exciting tasks to be involved in, including trend analysis for brand planning and conducting grocery range reviews. It was at this point I was approached about enrolling in an apprenticeship.
I was sceptical at first, as I had attended university before deciding it wasn’t for me. However, the flexibility, course content and the chance to directly apply learning to my job role was too great to turn down! Shortly after I was officially enrolled in a brand new Data Analyst Apprenticeship course at no cost to me!
I love studying my apprenticeship as it allows me to be continuously develop my understanding of the theory behind my job, emerging technology, as well as learning new skills, techniques and applications as the ever-changing world of data grows.
To any new starter joining Global Brands I would say have no fear! All the staff are brilliant and supportive in anything you need to help you reach your professional goals and development. Grasp every opportunity you are given with both hands and most importantly, have fun!
