I’ll have been at Global Brands for 4 years in August (wow time flies). I began my journey at Global as a young timid 18-year-old, eager to dive into my first “big girl job”. As soon as I found the apprenticeship, I knew it was what I wanted to do. Coming straight from my A-Levels, I had very little knowledge of the marketing world so spent hours researching current social media trends, the products that Global Brands have and marketing strategies.
Initially, I struggled to adapt to a professional workplace and found it difficult watching all my friends move across the country for university, but ultimately found that nothing was more rewarding than seeing how much I was learning and developing. Over my time here, I have:
Increased the All Shook Up Social following from 8K – 32K on Instagram
Launched the first TikTok account for VK and reached 12M+ consumers
Created brand partnerships with Motel Rocks, Hawaiian Tropic and Coconut Lane
A typical day for me starts at 9AM checking the social accounts for any coverage/ queries we have had overnight. Next, I’ll briefly check my emails and jump into planning. There’s always an upcoming new campaign/ product launch so plenty of photoshoots and launches to organise. In the afternoon I’ll research some TikTok influencers, I’m currently looking to sponsor some parties and podcasts for Shake Baby Shake. I’ll round the day off reviewing my latest TikTok campaign, analysing the reach, impressions and potential improvements.
My next step is to progress to an Assistant Content Manager which I hope to do before I finish my Degree Apprenticeship with Aston University.
